Continuing education classes are open to everyone and Yoga Alliance (RYT) certified yoga professionals will be able to log continuing education hours to maintain their certification status.  In addition, once we achieve our goal to be a Yoga Alliance 300 hour registered school, some of these offerings will qualify for 300 hour requirements towards Alliance RYT 500 Certification and Ananda Yoga Advanced Training.

This 9-month program weaves together yogic teachings, coaching tools and spiritual counseling practices for supporting others in their life journey.


Ideal for those in leadership roles (teachers, mentors, supervisors, managers…) who would like to develop their interpersonal skills and learn how to draw forth the best in others.

Pranayama is the key to a deep experience of yoga postures and meditation. In this course students will learn the anatomy and physiology of breath on the physical and subtle levels and how to teach advanced pranayama or energy control techniques, bandhas, mudras, and Yogananda's unique contribution to the science of yoga: Energization Exercises. We will go deeper into understanding how the astral body, especially the chakras, relate to energy control


2020 Dates Coming Soon!

Restorative yoga is a transforming nurturing form of yoga.  In this training you will gain an understanding of the use of props, proper alignment, and the breath to invoke the Relaxation Response.   You will be able to gain insights about setting up a healing space and guiding students through a restorative sequence from an experienced restorative yoga teacher.


This course is offered annually in both the Palo Alto and Scotts Valley locations.  In order to receive continued education credits with Yoga Alliance you will need to attend the course with a trainer registered at Yoga Alliance. 

The classes for 2020 are currently in session in Palo Alto and Scotts Valley series is taught by Doug Andrews, E-RYT 500.

Ideal for anyone looking to dive more deeply into the teachings and practices of yoga in daily life, and yoga teachers interested in expanding their skills for working with those in recovery. Each week focuses on a spiritual principle and the opportunity for healing and transformation it offers. Paired with the tools and teachings of yoga, we learn how to welcome and integrate these powerful gifts into daily life.

February 1 - May 30, 2020

Become a certified meditation teacher and share the many benefits of this practice with a wide range of students. Meditation teachers are needed in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, health clubs, corporations, and yoga centers. Meditation is used in clinical settings for treatment of PTSD, School children to help reduce stress and enhance performance. Hospitals provide meditation training to support cancer and surgery recovery.
Ananda is known for its expertise in meditation. For 50 years, we’ve been training teachers in meditation skills grounded in the highest yogic practices of India. From personalized training to post-training support, we help you in every way to become a skilled, professional meditation teacher.
